Apartment Renovation in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

101 North 5th Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY

Before & After

This apartment owned by a lovely couple in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, almost seemed as if it didn’t require much of a “makeover”. However, with the generic designs of their home, they felt like it wasn’t “theirs” yet, but rather one of many regular apartments.

We instantly understood what the clients’ meant. Renovation isn’t just about fixing old, rundown spaces, it’s also an opportunity to transform a space into one that you can truly call your home as it embodies your own unique style.

The apartment, with its large floor-to-ceiling windows, offers beautiful views and lots of natural light. Our clients wanted to remodel their kitchen and two bathrooms to make the apartment feel more like home.

The kitchen is the central part of the apartment and needed a personal touch. We chose warm wood finishes and added a quartz countertop and backsplash in matching warm tones. The island was redesigned with rounded corners, and we added rounded wood panels that became the focal point of the kitchen.

We also decided on a modern smart range that our clients can control from their phone to add ease to their daily cooking. Plus, an arched kitchen niche to provide shelf space while adding to the aesthetics.

For the master bathroom, we chose to mix textures and styles like zellige and marble. Zellige is a traditional ceramic tile known for its irregular shapes and shiny finish, which adds a warm, handmade touch. Marble, with its classic elegance and unique veins, gives a more polished and sophisticated look. Both bathrooms feature smart toilets with lids that automatically open.

In the guest bathroom, we used a similar approach, but the star feature here is the floating marble sink, which is the perfect focal point, paired with dark wood shelves. When combined, the contrast between the rough, colorful zellige tiles and the smooth, elegant marble creates a balanced, visually appealing design. This remodel highlights the beauty of the materials and matches the energy of the neighborhood.

When we wrapped up this project, our clients were very delighted with the outcome and so were we. Even if previously, their kitchen and bathroom were good, seeing the beautiful result truly proves that you can always make something of your own style and make your space better than before.
