Co-op Apartment Renovation in Sutton Place

200 E 57, NYC, NY

Before & After

Just off the Queensborough bridge is Chapter’s newest completed project. The clients had a goal to get out of the 1900s style of their apartment and finally catch up with the new generation style. So, they let Chapter do their magic. A renovation of 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen, including new floors and lighting was done throughout the apartment.

A more spacious and open kitchen was the goal, but with the limited space, the Chapter team used visuals to bring out a more open feel through material colors and planned lighting.

A bright white cabinet paired with a Calacatta Laza countertop gave it a little color with Coldplay fluted gray glazed backsplash tiles. The client wanted to brighten the space, so we installed under-cabinet lighting and an ET2 Larmes pendant light.

The darkness and outdatedness were the main challenges for the design of this bathroom. Through incorporating white tones, clay calm white tiles on the walls, and reverb linear white tile in the shower area an instant change in the room brightness took effect.

This large-format ceramic series creates a minimalist’s dream with a white palette. For the floor tiles the client wanted something with a little more color so we went with basic cement grigio gray tiles. Perfectly mimicking the textured look of poured concrete in a durable porcelain format, this brings an aesthetic kind of cement finish into your space without breaking the bank.

An amazing rim 60” LED medicine cabinet shines the place with bright white and a vanity that gives a white gloss finish wraps the place together.

In the powder room the client wanted a little different look which is an old-style classy look. Zia tiles were perfect for this concept. The tile is made in Morocco and is raw clay-mined from the local hillsides which they soak in water and filter for impurities. Each tile is made by hand and has its own unique color to each tile which gives the whole material a kind of artistry that you can't replicate.

It was a mission accomplished with this project for the Chapter team, and the clients were happy to be able to escape the previously 1900s-styled apartment they had and now can enjoy their modern space that finally has satisfied their aesthetic needs and comfort.
