Shore Crest Home Renovation And Pool Construction

NE 85th St, Miami, FL

At NE 85th Street in Miami, a charming mid-century home just got a bold new lease on life. This wasn’t your typical renovation. The goal from day one was to preserve the soul of the home while injecting it with fresh personality, color, and functionality. The result? A refreshed and quirky period home that honors its roots while embracing modern living.

Rather than overhaul everything, we embraced what was already special about the home. The original terrazzo floors, for example, were kept intact and became a design anchor throughout. From there, we carefully layered in finishes, colors, and architectural details that spoke to the home’s 1950s character, while adding a playful edge.

In the kitchen, we knocked down walls and opened things up. A new central island creates a welcoming gathering space, while expanded cabinetry and intentional storage keep everything in its place. We brought in natural light with a new sliding glass door that opens onto the backyard, making the whole space feel bigger, brighter, and more connected. Design-wise, we stayed true to the mid-century vibe with warm walnut finishes, clean lines, and a touch of flair: arched cabinet details that nod to the past while keeping things fresh.

Outside, we extended the kitchen into a new wooden deck that acts as a bridge between indoors and out. With added pergolas, fencing for privacy, and a lush yard, the space is perfect for everything from morning coffee to evening cocktails.

And let’s talk about the pool: we completely redesigned it with a stylized tile layout, playful contrasts, and a touch of kitsch that screams mid-century fun. It’s a showpiece, a conversation starter, and the perfect way to cool off in true Miami style.

We took a bold approach in both bathrooms, using color, pattern, and tile format to create truly unique spaces. Think graphic motifs, vibrant hues, and tile layouts that feel vintage and fresh at the same time. These weren’t just functional upgrades, they were design moments that add joy to the everyday.

Renovating at NE 85th Street was about more than just updating a house, it was about telling a story. A story of what this home was, what it could be, and how design can bring the two together. We’re proud to have created a space that’s bold, functional, and full of charm, and most importantly, one that still feels like home.
